Being a mom is the best thing EVER!!! I couldn't have prepared myself for how much fun this would be. Taking care of another human being is for sure scary but I feel so lucky to have Connor and how lucky we are that Heavenly Father chose US to be his parents! He is so cute and gets only cuter everyday.
Everyone always makes the silly joke of they don't want to visit you anymore they just want to visit the baby. And yes this might be the case but I LOVE all the visits and seeing people and giving people a reason to talk come over. We have loving family and friends who have helped us while I recovered and who have brought us food, gifts, goodies, and lots of LOVE! Thank you!
Month 1 Connor slept a ton and was this cute little thing! We didn't want to miss out on anything so off to Bear Lake we went! Then month 2 came and we didn't want to miss out on anything still so Bear Lake again! Connor touched his feet in the lake and he cried:) It was way too cold, he's definitely my boy. He watched daddy ski and I am sure he had inspiration that he was going to be just as good as his dad. I always wanted to be like my dad too! About 2 and a half months Connor started sleeping through the night and AH that was SO nice. When I was prego though I didn't get any sleep at all so after he was born the 3 hour naps throughout the night was wonderful and then an entire night!!!! WOW I haven't had that for almost 6 months. It was a great and I did wake up once in the night just to peak and make sure he was ok.
Connor had his baby blessing September 11th, almost 1 month old. It was such a special day with family all around! SO FUN!!! I kinda want to do it again just to have an excuse to get everyone to come to our house again:) Just kidding! Brian gave the greatest blessing ever to our sweet Connor, I remember good health, to marry a worthy wife to take to the temple, to serve a mission, and to be a JOY and happy boy!!! In this world now days things are crazy and I want nothing more than for my boy to find happiness in his life. Looking at the glass full is something that always will bring success and joy into our lives! We love Connor so so so much!
2 months to 3 months, October. October was so fun with Halloween, Brian took the opportunity to turn our Connor into a pumpkin. We grew so many pumpkins this year and some were really big so Brian had the idea to make a seat out of it and put Connor in it. It turned out to look a lot like a bumbo. (for you parents you know what that is) It was funny and poor Connor will look back and say, "mom and dad what did you make me do that for?"
Right before Halloween we went to St. George with my parents and some friends for a bike ride that I did for Make-A-Wish! It was only 10 miles and ladies only. I loved it!!!!!!! We had a great time and we even got to go boating! WAHOOOOOO! My first time skiing since being prego and having Connor. Well minus the time that I skied when I was 8 month prego:) It was divine, for those who know me you know my favorite thing in the entire world is water skiing. I developed a love for it from all those amazing Lake Powell trips with my family and friends every month in the summer growing up. My dad was who I looked up to and always wanted to be a good skier just like him! Let me tell you why I love it because I can't help it. Your ot in the water and usually smooth, and you look around and the scenery no matter where you are is beautiful and for those few minutes there isn't a worry in the world, just complete and utter calm! You just relax and enjoy and you don't have to think about anything or do anything just enjoy and it's just ME and I am alone out there on the water soaking it all in. Ahhhhhhhh! Love Love Love it! Connor slept the whole time but one day he will probably love it too:)
After we returned home we had a bit of reality to deal with. It was such a sad time and I still cry thinking about it. My poor grandma, my dad's mom, had a fall and her recovery just wasn't doing well. Yes, we all get old but we weren't quite expecting it this soon. I am so glad she got to meet our sweet Connor! Her pictures with him we will forever cherrish! My grandma joined our Heavenly Father with probably a celebration to see her siblings and parents as she always talked about them and how she loved them all! She had a wonderful life and her funeral was the best ever! What a life to celebrate, she was an example to all. Best quote from Grandma B., "If you can't say anything nice, then don't say anything at all" or "Lets talk about the flowers". I love you grandma and I can't wait until I get to see you again!
Thanksgiving!!! WOW good eats! We ate at both parents and what fun! We loved being with family and seeing everyone! He even had some fun bonding time with his cousin Beckham:) IT was so cute! They played with each other's hands and just looked at each other a lot. It was really funny! I wish I knew what was going through their heads. I love holidays because we get to see Sean and because we have Connor he spends a lot of time with us:) LOVE it and love every excuse we can have to get him to come in town! We miss him!
Connor now smiles lots and lots and just a few giggles here and there. He can't quite sit-up on his own or roll over but he rolls over on his side very well. Tummy time is not Connor's favorite. He likes to stand while you hold him and he is SO tall! He focuses on things and recognizes voices too. He now eats every 4 hours which is awesome. He did have his first cold a few months ago but all is well and it only kept him up a handful of nights so it wasn't too bad. Just a lot of TLC does the trick. Everyday is a new adventure and I still love being a mom and being with Connor! Brian and I still look at him and say, "Oh my heck! He is SO cute!!!!" We love him and are so lucky! Almost 4 month old now and still growing growing growing!
